Our Classic Shift Knob Series includes a threaded installed machined metal insert based on your fitment choice - M7 x 1.0, M10 x 1.5, or M12 x 1.5. These sizes are commonly used in Volkswagen models, but depending on your vehicle’s make and model, an adapter may be required.

Our Classic Shift Knob Series includes a threaded installed machined metal insert based on your fitment choice. These sizes are commonly used in Volkswagen models, but depending on your vehicle’s make and model, an adapter may be required.
- Purchase OEM adapter set if needed
- Fit to OEM shift arm
How do I make sure my shift knob won’t come loose after installation?
You can use some Loctite or a spray of silicone on the threads of the insert before installation for a budge-free smooth shifting experience.
Are these knobs only used for shift levers in cars?
American Shifter knobs can do more than just pimp your ride, think motorcycles, golf carts, boats, beer taps, or even a fancy paperweight!

What do I do if my knob rattles?
American Shifter shift knobs use a machined metal insert which provides rock-solid shifting and should not rattle.
Make sure your shift knob is installed properly and uses the correct adapter.
Will this shift knob work for a transfer case?
Yes! Depending on your make and model, this knob may require an adapter.

Can I use this knob as a brody suicide knob?
Yes! However, our Classic Knob Series is not a direct fit & will require an adapter. Our Brody Knobs include a M16 x 1.5 shaft.
